Opaque Quartz Glass Tube For Light
Opaque quartz glass tubes are primarily made from high-purity quartz sand, and sometimes crystal sand is also added. Their silicon dioxide (SiO₂) content typically exceeds 99.5% or even higher. Opaque quartz glass tubes possess characteristics such as high-temperature resistance, good thermal stability, and strong far-infrared radiation performance, making them widely used in various fields.
Performance Characteristics
Optical Performance: Opaque quartz glass has a visible light spectral transmittance of less than 8%, appearing milky white and opaque. However, in the 5-13μ far-infrared wavelength range, its emissivity exceeds 90%, allowing it to effectively absorb infrared light with wavelengths below 4μ and convert the absorbed light energy into far-infrared radiation.
High-Temperature Resistance: The softening point temperature of opaque quartz tubes is approximately 1730°C. They can be used for extended periods at temperatures up to 1200°C, with a maximum short-term usage temperature reaching 1450°C.
Heating and Drying Applications: Opaque quartz tubes can be manufactured into lamp tubes, spiral opaque quartz lamp tubes, and other lighting devices, widely applied in various far-infrared heating and drying equipment. This includes drying ovens and furnaces in industrial production for processes like drying and curing materials. In the food processing industry, they can be used for drying and dehydrating food products.
Home Appliance Sector: Opaque quartz glass tubes are also used as heating elements in some household appliances, such as electric heaters, warmers, and infrared ovens. They offer advantages like rapid heating, low thermal inertia, and no pollution, meeting modern household demands for clean and efficient heating.
Healthcare Sector: Leveraging their far-infrared radiation characteristics, opaque quartz tubes can be applied in medical and healthcare devices, such as infrared therapy instruments. Far-infrared rays can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, and enhance immune function in the human body.
